  On February 21, the Korean brand Young In Ace ion molecular mass spectrometer (Model: ACE 1100 IMR-MS) was installed and commissioned in Shanghai Pudong CDC.

  ACE1100 IMR-MS (Ion-Molecule Reaction Mass Spectrometry) is a sensitive and rapid analytical technique used to detect and quantify trace levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and inorganic gases in a wide range of samples. It is based on ion-molecule reactions occurring in a flow tube and detection of the resulting ions by mass spectrometry.

 

  ACE1100 IMR-MS works by introducing a sample gas stream into a flow tube, where it is mixed with a known concentration of a reagent gas. The resulting ions react with the sample molecules as they pass through the tube, producing characteristic productions. These ions are then detected by a mass spectrometer, which can identify and quantify the sample components based on their mass-to-charge ratios.

It can detect and quantify VOCs and inorganic gases in real-time, with detection limits as low as parts-per-trillion (ppt) levels.
